To make her point, she takes a more significant portion of the food she catches, to the dismay of Paula. The ship begins to sink, and a small portion of its tenants are now stuck on a deserted island.Ībigail is now the captain from there because no one can catch food or even start a fire. All this comes to a head when the ship passes through a terrible storm where everyone experiences a bout of sea sickness like a scene in a Monty Python movie. She is the staff manager who tries to keep the peace the best she can. The cleaner, Abigail, is managed by Paula. There is an opinionated Russian billionaire, Dimitry. An older couple who made their fortune by creating hand grenades is a great example. The boat has a wide variety of the truly morally bankrupt. The ship’s captain is going through an existential crisis, the type of experience you don’t want in the drivers of humungous travel vehicles in the middle of nowhere. However, they know they are a social media power couple, and it’s good for business.Ĭarl and Yaya then go on a luxury cruise on a yacht filled with the social elite and take as many selfies as possible. The kind that will go away quickly both characters acknowledge this. They lead a social media influencer life and have no real skills. Carl and his “girlfriend” Yaya are a couple of models posing for their cell phones to upload constant contact of their beauty that a higher deity has seemingly blessed. In the end, Helen blows up the glass onion at the center of the island, leaving only ruin in the wake of Bron’s legacy. The whole movie was just Bron covering his tracks, and Blanc figures that out. He intentionally murdered Duke because Duke had discovered that Andi was dead, and knew that Bron was behind it. Ultimately, we discover that Bron is the one behind Andi’s murder, and that he’s not nearly as smart as he seems to be. Blanc ultimately convinces her to travel to the island and impersonate her sister, as he deduces that most of Andi’s former friends aren’t yet aware that she has died. The person who has been impersonating her on the island is actually Andi’s twin sister, Helen, a humble schoolteacher who contacted Blanc after she discovered that her sister had died under suspicious circumstances. What really happened, we discover, is that the real Andi was murdered before the movie even began. No murder has been committed when he arrives on the island, at least not that we’re aware of. If you’ve read this far, you may be wondering what Blanc is doing on the island to begin with. Blanc is solving a murder that happened before the movie began Andi was the napkin’s actual author, but Bron claimed that he was the one who created. Bron convinced the rest of his friend group to side with him in a dispute over a bar napkin that contained detailed plans for the company. What both we and Blanc discover, though, is that Bron’s success was built on the back of Cassandra “Andi” Brand, who did most of the work to build their tech company and was then forced out by Bron.
